What is
Syndicated Content (RSS)?
Syndicated content, also known as Really
Simple Syndication (RSS), is a popular way
to distribute information from websites.
Users can syndicate news or blog feeds from
other websites such as Yahoo! or MSN, which
provide ways to share their content, or you
may create custom content from your own
website news or blogs, and make live RSS/XML
feeds out of those.
How do I
use RSS? You need an RSS reader, to use RSS
feeds. RSS readers allow you to find
feeds and subscribe to them, so that content
is delivered to you. After you have
subscribed to an RSS feed, headlines will
begin to flow to your reader. When you
see a headline that interests you, just
click it to view the full article.
With
ServerTell, such as our Syndicated Content
(RSS) Directory, (which may be called XML as
well), you may click on the icon labeled XML
next to the desired content, and the code
will be displayed for that specific RSS
content. These RSS/XML feeds can also
be displayed on your own personal website
and are constantly updated depending on
where you received the RSS/XML code from,
such as ServerTell. Provided below, is
a PHP based script designed to assist web
designers in being allowed to post RSS/XML
content on their websites.
